Saved prompts
Saved prompts aren’t part of the app. There’s no prompt library and no screen for creating or editing saved prompts.
If a picker opens when you type /
Section titled “If a picker opens when you type /”If you type / as the first character of a message, a box opens that says “Select a Prompt by command or name”. It stays empty, because there are no saved prompts to list. Press Esc to close it and go back to your message.
Reusing instructions
Section titled “Reusing instructions”Two features cover most of what saved prompts are used for:
- An agent keeps a set of instructions, a model and tools under a name. Open it and every message follows those instructions, so you don’t paste the same setup each time. See Agents.
- A skill is a block of instructions you write once, like your brand rules or a review checklist. Type
$at the start of a message to use one in any chat, or let an agent use it. See Skills.
In an agent’s Instructions, the Variables menu adds values filled in each time you send a message: Current Date, Current Date & Time, UTC ISO Datetime and Current User (your display name).
For text you only want to paste, such as a long template, keep it in a note on your device and paste it into the message box.
