Tools in chat
Most tools need no setup. Ask for what you want and Aderra picks the tool. In one reply it can use several tools in a row, look at what came back, and keep going until the job is done. Each step shows up in the reply as it happens.
The exception is connectors, the services you connected yourself: choose the ones a chat may use in the MCP Servers menu in the composer.
What it can use
Section titled “What it can use”| Tool | What it does | Where to read more |
|---|---|---|
| Images and video | Makes new images, edits an image you attached or it made, and turns an image into a short video | Images and video |
| Design mockups | When you ask it to build a page, an app screen or a deck from scratch, it can draw a picture of the design first, then build to match | Build apps and pages |
| Artifacts | Writes a page, chart, app or game and shows it running beside the chat, then changes it in small steps as you ask | Build apps and pages |
| Your connectors | Tools from services you connected yourself | Connectors |
Video needs the Pro or Max plan.
The Artifacts switch in the composer is on by default. Artifacts need a paid plan. On Free, Aderra tells you so and links to the Plan page instead of building.
Choosing the image model
Section titled “Choosing the image model”The Image model menu at the top of the chat decides how images from chat are made:
- Best quality is the default. It costs 300 credits per image, and it’s the one that can edit images.
- Fast costs about 1 credit per image. Good for drafts and quick ideas.
If you ask for an edit while Fast is selected, Aderra tells you that editing needs Best quality. Nothing is charged.
Design mockups always use the best design model, whatever you pick here, and they cost credits.
When Aderra asks first
Section titled “When Aderra asks first”Some tools stop and ask you before they run. A box appears in the reply with the reason.
- Before every video: “Video generation costs credits for every second. Allow this video to be generated?” Choose Approve or Reject, then click Submit.
- Before every tool from a connector: “This tool belongs to a server you connected. Allow it to run?” Besides Approve and Reject, you can choose Edit to change the tool’s input first, or Respond to type a result yourself instead of running it. Then click Submit.
- Before Aderra’s image and video tools, once a connector tool has run in the same reply. Text from another service could be steering the request, so you decide whether to spend the credits. Choose Approve or Reject, then click Submit.
If you reject, you can add a reason, and Aderra reads it. If you come back to a question much later, you may see “This request expired or was already handled.” Send your request again.
Limits per reply
Section titled “Limits per reply”- At most 4 images and 1 video per reply from Aderra’s own image and video tools. Edits and mockups count as images. If Aderra tries to make more, it tells you it hit the limit. Nothing is made or charged for those extra calls. Send another message to continue.
- At most 40 steps per reply. A step is one call to the model or one round of tool use. If a big job runs out of steps, you’ll see Reached the tool call limit for this turn. Everything so far is saved. Click Keep going to carry on with a fresh set of steps, or Answer now to get an answer from what it already has.
Each model step is billed, so long jobs cost more.
Long replies
Section titled “Long replies”Building a site or a deck with images can take several minutes. After 30 seconds the reply shows “This can take a few minutes. You can switch tabs.”
If your browser hasn’t asked you about notifications from Aderra yet, the notice also offers Notify me when it’s done. Once you allow them, it says “We’ll notify you when it’s done.” The notification only comes if the Aderra tab is open in the background. If the tab is in front, you’ll just see the reply. If you blocked notifications, or your browser doesn’t support them, there is no link.
Not available
Section titled “Not available”Regular chat has no web search, no running code on a server, no search across your uploaded files and no long-term memory. Aderra can still read files you attach, but it doesn’t keep a searchable library of them.
A saved agent can add a third-party search tool, but it needs your own key for that service.
